Festival Information
The Organisers |
Newcastle Community Green Festival is ENTIRELY run and organized by hundreds of volunteers We have a core team of about 40 people who organize activities and 4 environmental management advisors – all of whom give their time for free. The main organisers and management committee each put in hundreds of hours to set up and organise this amazing Festival. Each of the organizers is supported by lots of other volunteers who also put in many hours of voluntary work to help get the Festival up and running. The event and activity organizers are managed by an elected voluntary Management Committee. Our Management Team is made up of 9 volunteers. Management Committee and Planning Meetings are held on alternate weeks in the 3 months leading up to the Festival and monthly for 6 months prior to that. During the 2 days prior to the event when the site is set up, the two days of the Festival and the clean up days hundreds of people put in the time to make this the wonderful event we have all come to love and expect. Without them the show really would not go on. A big, BIG thank you to you all! This year has seen more community groups and companies than ever helping to sort out workshops, activities and displays for free.
