Everybody knows that cycling is great for the environment, so riding a tandem must be twice as effective. One plucky Green-festivaler – bike nut, Christian Tucker – has decided to raise cash for the volunteer-run event by riding his tandem (kindly provided by Recyke y’bike) over 120 kilometres into the wilderness.

Christian will ride the bicycle-made-for-two 60 kilometres to the Twice Brewed Inn for a well-deserved pint. He will then bed down for the night, before taking the gruelling trip back to Newcastle, hopefully arriving in Leazes Park by mid-afternoon on June 1st. All proceeds go towards the festival, so please, please sponsor him. 10p, 20p or 50p a kilometre, or a lump sum - any amount - will help keep this show on the road, so dig deep and let's make sure we give Christian a massive welcome as he rolls into the park on the Saturday.
